Hyderabad-based Cyient Semiconductors has raised $30 million in fresh financing from funds managed by Edelweiss and affiliated co-investors, taking the company’s post-money valuation to nearly $500 million. The funding reflects growing investor confidence in India’s semiconductor ecosystem as domestic firms increasingly target high-value chip design and power semiconductor markets.

The transaction includes nearly $10 million in equity investment along with approximately $20 million in structured debt capital aimed at supporting long-term expansion and strengthening the company’s financial structure. The latest capital infusion will help Cyient Semiconductors accelerate research and development initiatives, expand semiconductor testing infrastructure in India, and support large global customer programmes.

Cyient Semiconductors is focusing aggressively on custom power semiconductors and ASIC solutions, areas that are witnessing rapid global demand due to the expansion of artificial intelligence, data centres, industrial automation, automotive electronics, and robotics. The company believes power efficiency will become one of the defining challenges of the AI era, making advanced semiconductor innovation critical for next-generation computing infrastructure.

The company has been steadily building its semiconductor portfolio over the past year. It recently expanded its capabilities through the acquisition of Kinetic Technologies, a power semiconductor company with more than 100 patents and billions of chips shipped globally. Cyient Semiconductors has also strengthened partnerships across the semiconductor ecosystem to deepen its product-led strategy.

Industry observers see the funding as another strong indicator of India’s growing relevance in the global semiconductor value chain. As India pushes to build domestic semiconductor capabilities under its national semiconductor mission, companies such as Cyient Semiconductors are increasingly moving beyond engineering services into proprietary chip products and advanced silicon innovation.

Cyient Semiconductors currently operates design and engineering capabilities across India, Belgium, and the United States, serving customers in AI infrastructure, automotive, industrial, communications, and high-performance computing segments. The company’s growing focus on intelligent power and custom silicon solutions positions it among the emerging Indian players seeking a larger role in the global semiconductor industry.
