Union Minister of Communications, Jyotiraditya M. Scindia, chaired a key review meeting with Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL)’s Chief General Managers in New Delhi to assess the company’s performance, future plans, and focus areas. Minister of State for Communications, Pemmasani Chandra Sekhar, and senior officials from the Department of Telecommunications were also present. The meeting emphasized enhancing BSNL’s customer experience, improving service delivery, and achieving revenue growth through strategic and operational alignment.
Scindia highlighted BSNL’s critical role in India’s telecom ecosystem and underlined the importance of fast-tracking infrastructure rollout, upgrading service responsiveness, and driving modernization. A customer-first approach is central to BSNL’s transformation, with an emphasis on proactive engagement, quicker grievance redressal, and improved Quality of Service (QoS) across mobile and fiber-to-the-home (FTTH) networks.
Key outcomes of the review included aligning BSNL’s leadership across circles and business units on priority areas such as reconnecting with customers, resolving billing issues, ensuring network uptime, and expanding enterprise services like leased lines, VPNs, and private network solutions (CNPN). Scindia commended BSNL’s recent initiatives like 4G rollout, National Wi-Fi Roaming, and spam-free communication services. New infotainment platforms like IFTV for FTTH and BiTV for mobile were also launched, alongside an online portal for BSNL Business Associates to encourage youth participation in the telecom sales ecosystem.
With a clear “Revenue First” approach and renewed commitment to digital empowerment, BSNL aims to build a robust, future-ready telecom infrastructure to serve every corner of the country. The government remains focused on making BSNL a digitally driven, customer-oriented, and financially sustainable telecom provider.
