To expand global market access for Indian MSMEs and promote digital trade facilitation, the Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT), under the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, presented its flagship Trade Connect ePlatform at two prominent B2B exhibitions in July— the 71st India International Garment Fair (IIGF) and the 16th Toy Biz International Expo 2025.
The IIGF was inaugurated by Pabitra Margherita, Minister of State for Textiles and External Affairs on July 1, 2025. The fair brought together over 360 Indian garment exporters and buyers from 79 countries. During his visit to the Trade Connect booth, the minister appreciated the platform’s role in helping Indian exporters navigate international markets with ease.
DGFT also participated in the Toy Biz Expo from July 4–7, 2025, at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi. With over 400 Indian toy manufacturers in attendance, the DGFT team demonstrated how the Trade Connect platform supports exporters in accessing reliable trade data, connecting with global buyers, and understanding compliance requirements for overseas markets.
Moving forward, Trade Connect will continue to engage exporters at events like World Food India 2025 in New Delhi and the India International Jewellery Show in Mumbai.
Trade Connect, a digital initiative by DGFT, is designed to serve as a central hub for export-related information and services. The platform provides real-time updates on tariffs, certifications, trade opportunities, and eCommerce. It also features multilingual learning modules on export procedures and facilitates the digital issuance of certificates of origin in a secure and paperless manner.
