LG Electronics India has officially begun construction of its third manufacturing plant in India, located in Sri City, Andhra Pradesh. Nara Lokesh, Minister for IT, Electronics and Communication, Andhra Pradesh, and Lyu Jae-cheol, President of LG Home Appliance Solution Company, and Hong Ju Jeon, Managing Director of LG Electronics India along with other senior LG executives, were present during the foundation ceremony.
This new facility marks a major investment by LG in India, with an estimated ₹5,001 crore (USD 600 million) to be invested over the next four years. The Andhra Pradesh government has approved 247 acres of land for the plant, which is expected to generate approximately 1,495 direct jobs and attract additional businesses, boosting the local economy and electronics manufacturing ecosystem.
The new plant will produce a wide range of products including air conditioners, AC compressors, washing machines, and refrigerators. It will help LG meet the growing demand in India, improve supply chains in South India, and enhance local production capabilities.
This third facility in Sri City will further strengthen LG’s position in the Indian market and reinforce India’s role as a key part of its global supply chain. The company already has manufacturing units in Greater Noida and Pune.
Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu welcomed LG’s investment, calling it a reflection of the state’s industry-friendly environment. Nara Lokesh also highlighted LG’s long-term commitment to India and expressed confidence in the success of this expansion into Andhra Pradesh.
