India has reaffirmed its commitment to becoming a global leader in 6G technology. Speaking at the ‘Bharat 6G 2025’ – 3rd International Conference and Exhibition in New Delhi, Dr. Chandra Sekhar Pemmasani, Minister of State for Communications and Rural Development, emphasized that Bharat 6G is not just a technological ambition but a national mission.

He highlighted India’s shift from being a technology user to becoming a standard-setter. The Bharat 6G Vision, launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in March 2023, aims for India to design, develop, and deploy 6G technologies by 2030.

The Minister outlined the future of 6G as a major leap in connectivity, enabling terahertz frequencies, ultra-fast speeds, low latency, AI-driven networks, and seamless communication across land, sea, and air. He emphasized its transformative potential in healthcare, education, agriculture, and smart infrastructure.

India is currently working through the Bharat 6G Alliance, with over 111 funded research projects and international collaborations with countries like Japan, Singapore, and Finland.

Dr. Pemmasani concluded by reaffirming the government’s full support, stating that India has the innovation, scale, and leadership to shape global 6G standards and ensure digital progress for all.
