Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) has achieved 93% of its revenue target for the September quarter of FY26, earning ₹5,347 crore, Union Telecom Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia announced after a performance review. The target for the quarter was ₹5,740 crore. Scindia said the company’s total revenue for the first half of FY26 has reached ₹11,134 crore, reflecting steady progress toward its ambitious full-year target of ₹27,500 crore—representing a 20% growth over the previous year.

Highlighting operational improvements, the minister said BSNL’s Average Revenue Per User (ARPU) increased by 12%, rising from ₹81 in the first quarter to ₹91 in the second quarter. This metric is considered a key indicator of telecom sector growth. Some regions, including Maharashtra, Kerala, Uttar Pradesh (East), Andaman & Nicobar Islands, and Jammu & Kashmir, performed exceptionally well, with ARPU figures reaching as high as ₹214. However, Scindia pointed out the need for improvement in circles such as Madhya Pradesh, Jharkhand, and Kolkata, where ARPU remains around ₹60.

The minister appreciated BSNL’s strong performance but emphasized the need for continued efficiency and better service delivery to maintain the growth momentum.
