A parliamentary committee will meet on Tuesday to review the growing concerns over cyber crimes against women. The 11th sitting of the Parliamentary Committee on Empowerment of Women will include representatives from leading social media companies such as Google (YouTube), Meta (Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp), and X (formerly Twitter), along with officials from the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY).
The panel is examining issues of online harassment, stalking, trolling, and misuse of digital platforms, aiming to strengthen safeguards and ensure greater accountability from tech companies in protecting women’s safety in the digital space.
