Samsung has started manufacturing its slimmest smartphone, the Galaxy S25 Edge, in India. Launched globally, including in India, on May 13, the device is now being produced at Samsung’s Noida factory, strengthening its commitment to the Make in India initiative.
The Galaxy S25 Edge is designed for users who prefer a sleek, lightweight phone that still delivers powerful performance. It is built on the Snapdragon 8 Elite Mobile Platform and comes equipped with Galaxy AI features, including multimodal AI that allows users to interact through vision and voice in real time.
The smartphone is priced between ₹1.09 lakh and ₹1.22 lakh, targeting the premium segment. According to Counterpoint Research, Samsung led smartphone production in India in 2024 with a 20% share by volume, while Apple and Samsung together accounted for 94% of all smartphones made in the country.
Technology expert Nikhil Chawla highlighted that Samsung’s move to produce the S25 Edge in India reflects the nation’s growing importance in global tech manufacturing. With a 17% market share in India in Q1 2025, Samsung’s S series—especially the S25 Ultra—has driven record growth in its premium category.
