Xiaomi Launches Redmi A5 in India with 120Hz Display at ₹6,499

Xiaomi has launched its latest budget smartphone, the Redmi A5, in India, aiming to offer a feature-rich experience at an affordable price. The new device comes with a starting price of ₹6,499 and is available in two variants—3GB RAM with 64GB storage at ₹6,499, and 4GB RAM with 128GB storage at ₹7,499. Customers can purchase it starting April 16, 2025, via Xiaomi’s official website, Flipkart, Amazon, and select retail outlets.
The Redmi A5 features a 6.88-inch HD+ LCD display with a smooth 120Hz refresh rate and 240Hz touch sampling rate, offering a better viewing and gaming experience. It is equipped with a UNISOC T7250 processor, paired with up to 4GB LPDDR4X RAM and 128GB storage, expandable via microSD card. Running on Android 15 (Go Edition), the phone is set to receive two years of software updates and four years of security patches.
In terms of design, the Redmi A5 is IP52-rated, making it resistant to dust and light splashes. It houses a 32MP main rear camera and an 8MP front camera, both supporting video recording at 1080p and 720p at 30fps. Camera features include HDR, Night Mode, and Portrait Mode.
A 5200mAh battery powers the device, supported by 15W fast charging. The phone is available in Ocean Blue, Lake Green, Sandy Gold, and Midnight Black.
With its attractive pricing and upgraded specs, the Redmi A5 is set to appeal to budget-conscious users looking for performance and style in one package.
