PLI Scheme for Electronics Components to Roll Out by FY26: MeitY Secretary

India will introduce a Production-Linked Incentive (PLI) scheme for electronics components by FY26, announced S Krishnan, Secretary, Ministry of Electronics and IT (MeitY). Speaking at CNBC-TV18’s Budget Verdict townhall, he emphasized India’s strong growth potential in power electronics and the need for sustained focus.
The PLI scheme is in its finalization phase, with adequate financial allocations ensured for smooth disbursements. Companies will receive incentives based on their claims, with priority given to fast-tracking payments.
Krishnan also highlighted the mobile PLI scheme’s success, calling it the best-performing initiative, which will serve as a benchmark for the upcoming electronics components PLI.
The scheme is expected to boost domestic manufacturing, attract investments, and foster innovation in power electronics, strengthening India’s position in electronics manufacturing and self-reliance.
