Chipmaker Qualcomm and smartphone manufacturer Xiaomi have extended their 15 years partnership into a multi-year partnership to power the next generation smartphones, wearables, and AR devices. Their latest agreement ensures Xiaomi will continue to use Qualcomm’s advanced chipsets in future product lines, including smartphones, tablets, smart home devices, and automotive applications.
As part of this renewed collaboration, Xiaomi will be among the first companies to adopt Qualcomm’s upcoming Snapdragon 8-series processors, expected to launch in 2025. Xiaomi’s upcoming 16 series flagship phones are set to feature Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 processor, bringing advanced performance to their next-generation devices. The companies also plan to work together on AI features for mobile, AR/VR glasses, and future automotive systems.
Xiaomi has consistently relied on Qualcomm’s Snapdragon processors since the launch of its Mi 1 in 2011. Xiaomi now incorporates Qualcomm chips across a wide range of products beyond smartphones, including smartwatches and wireless earbuds. Notably, the Xiaomi Buds 5 Pro is powered by the Snapdragon S7 and S7+ platforms, while the Xiaomi Watch 2 Pro operates on the Snapdragon W5+ Gen 1 processor.
This renewed deal signals a continued push towards innovation in mobile and smart technology worldwide.
