India is set to take a leading role in shaping the global conversation on artificial intelligence as Narendra Modi shared his vision on the day he is scheduled to inaugurate the AI Impact Summit in the national capital. His remarks came ahead of the formal opening of the summit, highlighting India’s approach to AI as human-centric, inclusive and globally collaborative.

The AI Impact Summit is being held at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi and brings together world leaders, industry leaders, innovators, policymakers, researchers and technology experts from across the globe. The theme of the summit, Sarvajana Hitaya, Sarvajana Sukhaya—welfare for all, happiness for all—reflects India’s belief that technology must serve society as a whole.

In a message shared on social media, the Prime Minister said India is “bringing the world together to discuss AI,” underlining the country’s commitment to using artificial intelligence for public good. He noted that AI is already transforming important sectors such as healthcare, education, agriculture, governance and enterprise, and has the potential to improve lives at scale when used responsibly.

The Prime Minister also emphasised that India’s growing role in the global AI landscape is powered by the strength of its 1.4 billion people, strong digital public infrastructure, a vibrant startup ecosystem and advanced research capabilities. Together, these factors have placed India at the forefront of the AI transformation.

He expressed confidence that discussions at the summit will enrich global dialogue on innovation, collaboration and responsible use of AI, and help shape a future that is progressive, opportunity-driven and focused on human welfare.
