Sony India reported steady growth in revenue for the financial year 2024–25, even as its profit saw a modest decline due to higher operating costs. The company’s revenue from operations rose 2.44 percent to Rs 7,851.08 crore, while total income, including other earnings, increased to Rs 7,917.54 crore.

However, net profit for the year fell by nearly 6 percent to Rs 157.03 crore, compared with the previous year. Advertising and promotional spending increased slightly, reflecting continued investment in brand visibility and market presence. Payments made as royalties to its parent company also rose, adding pressure on overall profitability.

Despite the profit dip, Sony India’s core consumer audio and visual segment showed healthy growth, contributing over Rs 6,500 crore in revenue during the year. India remains a key market for Sony globally and is currently its fourth-largest market after the US, China, and Japan.

The company has stated its ambition to become Sony’s third-largest global market in the coming years. After several years of decline following its exit from mobile phones and laptops, Sony India’s revenue has stabilised since FY22 and continues to show consistent growth.
