CSC Olympiad 5.0 Empowers 280,000 Rural Students, 163 Scholars Named

The CSC Olympiad 5.0 has achieved a major milestone, with 280,000 students from rural India participating across 15 subjects to compete on a national level. Conducted under the Ministry of Electronics & IT (MeitY) by Common Service Centre (CSC) e-Governance, the Olympiad continues to bridge the urban-rural educational divide.
Expanding Opportunities for Rural Students
This year’s Olympiad saw 113,576 students engage in practice exams, while over 100,000 AI-proctored online exams were conducted. The government has recognized 163 outstanding students with scholarships, reinforcing its commitment to rural education.
Aimed at students from Grades 3 to 12, the examinations were conducted in 10 regional languages, including Hindi, English, Tamil, Marathi, Gujarati, Odia, Telugu, Malayalam, and Bengali. This multilingual approach ensures that students from diverse linguistic backgrounds can participate without barriers, making the initiative more inclusive and accessible.
Transforming Rural Education
Beyond testing academic proficiency, the CSC Olympiad plays a crucial role in developing leadership and communication skills, equipping students to compete on national and international stages. To streamline the scholarship process, an online portal has been introduced, and the results are set to be declared on February 28, 2025.
“The CSC Olympiad is a gateway to new opportunities for rural students, fostering skill development and boosting their confidence,” remarked Sanjay Rakesh, CEO of CSC. Over the years, this initiative has emerged as a symbol of progress, showcasing how technology can bridge educational gaps and empower the youth with better learning opportunities.
