India’s Vision for Global Semiconductor Leadership Outlined by Prime Minister Modi

During his 78th Independence Day address, Prime Minister Narendra Modi highlighted India’s ambitions to become a global leader in semiconductor production, emphasizing the nation’s potential to produce “Made in India” chips for every device.
The Prime Minister noted India’s transformation into a major mobile phone manufacturing hub, with exports now reaching global markets, a testament to the country’s growing industrial ecosystem.
Modi stressed the critical role of semiconductors, artificial intelligence, and modern technologies in shaping the future, underscoring the importance of India’s ongoing efforts through the Indian Semiconductor Mission. He called on the nation to dream of creating semiconductors domestically, showcasing India’s capability to provide comprehensive technological solutions to the world.
With a vision to achieve “Viksit Bharat” (Developed India) by 2047, Modi outlined a roadmap for India’s advancement in high-tech sectors, reflecting the country’s commitment to becoming a self-reliant leader in semiconductor production and cutting-edge technologies. He affirmed that India possesses both the talent and resources to lead in this critical industry.
