The United States will send a high-level delegation to the upcoming AI Impact Summit in India, with Michael Kratsios, Assistant to US President Donald Trump and Director of the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy, set to lead the team.

Kratsios confirmed his participation through a social media post, stating that the US looks forward to engaging with global partners in India and sharing its approach to advancing artificial intelligence innovation. He underlined that the US is shaping global benchmarks in AI and sees value in working closely with international stakeholders to expand responsible adoption of the technology.

His announcement follows media reports confirming that he will travel to New Delhi later this month to represent the US at the summit. According to these reports, Kratsios will use the platform to provide updates on the Trump administration’s America AI Exports programme, launched through an executive order in July.

The initiative aims to promote the use of US-developed AI technologies and digital infrastructure globally, positioning American platforms and standards as preferred choices for international partners. The US delegation will also include senior officials such as Undersecretary of State for Economic Affairs Jacob Helberg, Undersecretary of Commerce for International Trade William Kimmitt, and Undersecretary of Commerce for Industry and Security Jeffrey Kessler. They will join the US Ambassador to India as part of “Team USA” during the engagements in New Delhi.

The AI Impact Summit is being described as one of the largest global gatherings of policymakers, industry leaders, and technology experts focused on artificial intelligence. This edition is particularly significant as it marks the first time the event is being hosted in the Global South.

The India AI Impact Summit will take place from February 16 to 20 at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi and is designed as a five-day programme combining policy dialogue, research discussions, industry participation, and public engagement. The summit is structured around three guiding pillars—People, Planet, and Progress—reflecting a balanced approach to innovation, sustainability, and social impact.

A major highlight will be the India AI Impact Expo, spread across more than 70,000 square metres, featuring over 300 exhibitors from 30 countries across multiple thematic pavilions. The expo will showcase how AI is moving beyond pilot projects into large-scale, real-world deployment.

The summit aligns closely with India’s development-focused AI strategy under the IndiaAI Mission and the Digital India initiative, with strong emphasis on practical, people-centric outcomes. Discussions will cover AI applications in healthcare, agriculture, education, finance, and governance, demonstrating its role in inclusive growth and improved public service delivery.

Recognising AI’s strategic importance, India has prioritised building domestic compute infrastructure, developing indigenous AI models, and expanding large-scale skill development. The summit’s deliberations will be organised around seven thematic “Chakras,” addressing areas such as human capital, safe and trusted AI, innovation efficiency, democratising AI resources, and AI for economic and social good.

Supported by key government institutions, the summit aims to strengthen global cooperation, promote responsible AI use, and build long-term partnerships across governments, industry, startups, and academia.
