Schneider Electric to Fully Acquire Indian Operations

Schneider Electric has announced that it will acquire the remaining 35% stake in its Indian joint venture from Singapore-based Temasek for €5.5 billion (approximately $6.4 billion). The decision has been taken with an aim to consolidate the operations in the country. This marks a significant step towards strengthening French electrical equipment giant’s presence in one of its fastest-growing markets.
The full ownership of Schneider Electric India will allow the company to make quicker strategic decisions and better align its operations with long-term growth plans. For the French electrical equipment maker, India is an important part of its global operations is currently its third-largest market worldwide. The country is also home to one of Schneider’s four global hubs, with an expansive infrastructure that includes 31 manufacturing plants and an equal number of distribution centers.
This acquisition reflects Schneider’s deepening commitment to India and highlights the growing importance of the country as a manufacturing and innovation powerhouse in the global supply chain.
