Reliance Retail Acquires Kelvinator to Strengthen Durables Portfolio

Reliance Retail, led by Isha Ambani, has acquired the iconic home appliance brand Kelvinator to strengthen its presence in India’s fast-growing consumer durables market. The financial details of the deal were not disclosed. With this acquisition, Reliance aims to expand its product offerings by combining its vast distribution network with Kelvinator’s trusted legacy in durable and high-performance appliances.

Kelvinator, a household name in India since the 1970s, is known for its reliable refrigerators and washing machines. With its tagline “The Coolest One,” the brand holds strong nostalgic value among Indian consumers. Reliance Retail plans to use Kelvinator’s brand equity and history of innovation to boost its offerings in categories such as refrigerators, air conditioners, and kitchen appliances.

Isha Ambani, Executive Director of Reliance Retail Ventures Limited (RRVL), said the move reflects the company’s mission to bring accessible and future-ready technology to every Indian household. She called the acquisition a “pivotal moment” in expanding global innovations for Indian consumers.
