Regional AI Conclave Shaping India’s Digital Future Being Hosted in Gandhinagar

IndiaAI Mission under the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), in partnership with the Gujarat Government and the Indian Institute of Technology, Gandhinagar organised Regional Conclave on “AI for Good Governance” on Thursday at Mahatma Mandir. This conclave is a lead-up to the India–AI Impact Summit 2026, which will take place from 15 to 20 February 2026 at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi.

The Regional Conclave has brought together senior government officials, industry leaders, researchers, and technology experts to discuss how AI can support India’s digital, economic, and social transformation. The event was inaugurated by key dignitaries, including Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendrabhai Rajnikant Patel, Deputy Chief Minister Harsh Rameshbhai Sanghavi, Gujarat Science & Technology Minister Arjunbhai Devabhai Modhwadia, Chief Secretary Manoj Kumar Das, Additional Secretary of MeitY and DG NIC Abhishek Singh, and Secretary of the Department of Science & Technology, Gujarat, Ponugumatla Bharathi.

With the theme AI for Good Governance: Empowering India’s Digital Future, the programme featured keynote sessions by national and global experts from MeitY, Bhashini, Google Cloud, Microsoft, IBM Research, NVIDIA, Oracle, and AWS. Discussions will focus on AI-enabled public service delivery, urban and rural development, agriculture, healthcare, fintech, digital inclusion, generative AI, and multilingual AI powered by BHASHINI.

Participants also explored an Experience Zone curated by IndiaAI and DST Gujarat, showcasing practical AI applications in governance, healthcare, agriculture, and industry.

By bringing policymakers, technologists, and academics together, the Gandhinagar Regional Pre-Summit aims to strengthen India’s responsible and scalable AI ecosystem. Insights from this event will help shape the agenda for the India–AI Impact Summit 2026 and support India’s vision of building a safe, inclusive, and globally competitive AI future.
