Nothing has said that its upcoming flagship smartphone, the Phone (3), will be made in India. The device will be assembled at the company’s Chennai facility, which currently employs over 500 people—95% of whom are women. This marks a continuation of Nothing’s India-first production strategy, as all its smartphones so far have been locally made.

However, the Phone (3) holds special importance for the brand. Being positioned as its first true flagship, the company calls it “the very best of Nothing.” Co-founder and India President Akis Evangelidis said the move strengthens Nothing’s long-term commitment to India and its talent pool. He emphasized that the initiative aligns with the government’s Make in India mission and boosts local innovation.

Manufacturing the Phone (3) in India will help the company speed up deliveries and respond quickly to market needs. In addition to expanding its manufacturing base, Nothing is also scaling its retail and service operations. The brand has increased its retail presence from 2,000 to 10,000 stores and now operates over 330 service centers across India, including exclusive centers in Delhi, Mumbai, and Bengaluru—reinforcing its customer-centric focus in a growing market.
