CG Power and Industrial Solutions has officially entered the global data centre segment after winning a major export order worth around Rs 900 crore from US-based Tallgrass Integrated Logistics Solutions. The company disclosed the development in a stock exchange filing dated January 18, marking a significant milestone in its international growth journey.
According to the company, this is the largest single order it has received so far and involves the direct export of power transformers from India. The transformers will be custom-designed to meet the demanding needs of hyperscale data centres, which require highly reliable and efficient power infrastructure to support large-scale cloud computing and digital workloads. The project is expected to be executed over a period of 12 to 20 months.
Amar Kaul, Global CEO and Managing Director of CG Power, described the order as a strategic breakthrough. He said the project marks the company’s entry into the fast-growing global data centre industry and demonstrates its ability to deliver mission-critical technology solutions that meet global standards. He also highlighted that the rapid expansion of cloud services, artificial intelligence, and digital platforms is reshaping global power demand.
The transformers for this project will be designed and manufactured at CG Power’s advanced facilities in India before being shipped to the US. The company said its selection for the project reflects its strong engineering expertise, modern manufacturing capabilities, and disciplined execution approach. CG Power believes this order opens up long-term opportunities in global data centre projects and aligns with its strategy of profitable international expansion.
