DPIIT, Hafele India Join Hands to Boost Local Innovation and MSMEs

With an aim to strengthen India’s manufacturing sector and promote innovation among startups and MSMEs, DPIIT (Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade) has signed a MoU with Hafele India Pvt. Ltd. This strategic partnership aims to support product innovation, local sourcing, and the creation of resilient supply chains aligned with the ‘Make in India’ vision.

As part of the collaboration, Hafele will assist startups and small businesses by providing access to infrastructure, technical support, supplier development, and market reach. Investment worth $2.5 million have been done by Hafele in an Indian appliance manufacturing startup while purchase orders have been issued to Indian MSMEs producing furniture fittings and architectural hardware have also been issued by the company.

DPIIT will facilitate the initiative through its Startup India platform by connecting entrepreneurs with resources and enabling program participation and co-branding.

Joint Secretary of DPIIT, Shri Sanjiv, emphasized that the partnership combines global expertise with India’s entrepreneurial talent to drive industrial growth. Meanwhile, Frank Schloeder, Managing Director – South Asia, Hafele, stated that the MoU is a reflection of their commitment to support “India for India” today and “India for the World” in the future.

The MoU is valid for two years, with the possibility of extension based on mutual agreement.
