Apple CEO Tim Cook has confirmed that more retail stores of the company will be opened across India in 2025. Currently, Apple operates two official stores in the country—one in Mumbai and another in New Delhi. With plans underway, the tech giant is set to expand its physical presence further this year.

Speaking during Apple’s recent earnings call, Cook highlighted India’s growing importance as a market. He shared that new retail outlets will open soon, aligning with earlier reports that Apple plans to launch stores in cities such as Bengaluru, Pune, Mumbai, and Noida.

The expansion comes after a strong start to fiscal year 2025, where the iPhone became the top-selling smartphone in India. This success has strengthened Apple’s confidence in its long-term plans for the country.

To support its upcoming stores, Apple has already started hiring for various roles. These include customer service, technical support, and store leadership positions. The new team members will help deliver Apple’s signature retail experience to a wider audience in India.

The journey of Apple into India’s direct-to-consumer space started in 2020 when the company launched its online store. This was followed by the Apple Store app for Indian users in January 2024, improving accessibility and engagement.

Apart from eyeing retail growth, Apple is also looking to increase its manufacturing in India. The full iPhone 16 lineup, including the iPhone 16e, Pro, and Pro Max, is now being made in India, further reinforcing Apple’s commitment to the ‘Make in India’ initiative it joined in 2017.
