Tamil Nadu has emerged as the top Indian state in electronics exports for FY25, driven largely by Apple’s expanding manufacturing footprint in India. The state reported exports worth $14.65 billion in 2024–25, a 53% jump from $9.56 billion in 2023–24. This follows a massive 78% increase in the previous year. Tamil Nadu now contributes over 41% of India’s total electronics exports. State Industries Minister TRB Rajaa praised the robust electronics ecosystem that made this growth possible.

Karnataka secured the second spot with $7.85 billion in exports, followed by Uttar Pradesh at $5.26 billion. Other key contributors included Maharashtra, Gujarat, and Telangana.

Tata Electronics and Foxconn, vendors for Apple, have played a significant role in this surge. In FY25, India exported over $17.5 billion worth of iPhones, mainly to the US—doubling the vendors’ initial export commitments. India now produces 18–20% of the global iPhone output.

Notably, more than half out of 14 Apple supply chain units are located in Tamil Nadu. Companies like Pegatron, Wistron, and Zhen Ding Technology are ramping up local production, further establishing Tamil Nadu as a global hub for electronics manufacturing.
