India and the Netherlands plan to sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) this year to enhance cooperation in semiconductor manufacturing and technology. Netherlands Foreign Minister Caspar Veldkamp highlighted India’s potential as a secure hub for semiconductor production and critical technology.

During his 26-hour visit to India, Veldkamp met with External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar in New Delhi to discuss trade, investments, innovation, and emerging opportunities in semiconductors. Jaishankar emphasized expanding collaboration in green hydrogen, education, and global strategic developments.

India is also exploring research partnerships with the Netherlands on lab-grown diamonds for semiconductor manufacturing, a sector where the Netherlands is a global leader. The move aligns with India’s goal to establish itself as a key player in the semiconductor industry.
