Apple to End Software Support for These iPhones with iOS 19 Release

Apple is set to unveil iOS 19 at its Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) 2025, scheduled from June 9 to June 13. While the update will bring exciting new features, some older iPhone models will no longer receive software support. Reports indicate that the iPhone XR, iPhone XS, and iPhone XS Max will not be eligible for the iOS 19 update.

According to sources, Apple is expected to discontinue software updates for these three models, marking the end of nearly six years of support. However, similar to past trends, Apple may continue to provide security updates for these devices, as it did for the iPhone 8, iPhone 8 Plus, and iPhone X after they were left out of the iOS 18 update.

The iPhone XR, XS, and XS Max, launched in 2018, are now joining the list of unsupported devices. Additionally, the report suggests that Apple will also drop support for the 7th-generation iPad, introduced in 2019. This means the device will not receive iPadOS 19.

Meanwhile, iOS 19 is rumored to feature a major design overhaul inspired by visionOS, the operating system powering the Apple Vision Pro. The update could bring a fresh look to apps, menus, icons, and system controls, enhancing user experience.

While affected devices will continue to function, they won’t receive new features. Users looking to stay updated with Apple’s latest innovations may need to consider upgrading their devices.
