The Apple iPhone 17 Pro Max is expected to bring significant design and material changes when it launches in 2025. While Apple has not officially confirmed any details, industry analysts and leaks suggest that the flagship smartphone will shift from a titanium body to an aluminium frame. This move is said to align with Apple’s carbon neutrality goals, as aluminium has a lower environmental impact compared to titanium.
According to reports from industry insiders like Jeff Pu and Ming-Chi Kuo, the iPhone 17 Pro Max may also introduce a part-glass, part-aluminium back, replacing the all-glass back used in recent models. Another rumored design change includes a redesigned camera bump with a darker shade, housing the triple-camera setup, and a repositioned flash LiDAR sensor.
The device is expected to be slightly thicker than its predecessor, measuring 8.725mm, compared to the iPhone 16 Pro Max’s 8.25mm. This increase in thickness could allow for a larger battery, enhancing battery life.
Under the hood, the iPhone 17 Pro Max is rumored to feature Apple’s A19 Pro chip, built on TSMC’s 3nm process, along with 12GB of RAM, promising superior performance and efficiency.
