Key Themes: PLI Schemes, Green Transition & Trade Policy
The conference focused on India’s evolving industrial policy, the role of Production Linked Incentive (PLI) schemes, and the green transition in shaping sustainable global supply chains. It also addressed the interplay between trade policy and industrial policy within the framework of WTO disciplines to ensure a rules-based international trading system.
Expert Insights on Global Trade & Industrial Competitiveness
Prominent figures such as Montek Singh Ahluwalia, Dammu Ravi (MEA Secretary, Economic Relations), and former WTO Appellate Body members Peter Vanden Bosche & Ujal Singh Bhatia discussed challenges posed by geopolitical shifts, China’s economic rise, and protectionist trade measures.
Experts called for transparent, cost-effective interventions in critical sectors, better PLI implementation, and stronger value-chain integration to boost India’s self-reliance and employment generation.
