Tata Electronics is set to establish a display semiconductor manufacturing facility in Dholera, Gujarat, in collaboration with Taiwan-based PSMC and Himax Technologies. The announcement was made by Tata Electronics CEO Randhir Thakur at the IESA Vision Summit.

Thakur stated that the company has signed a tripartite agreement with the Gujarat government to develop India’s display technology ecosystem. The partnership will leverage PSMC’s expertise to produce display chips for Himax Technologies.

This expansion marks Tata Electronics’ presence in all three key semiconductor segments. The company is already investing ₹91,000 crore in a semiconductor fabrication plant in Gujarat with PSMC as a technology partner. Additionally, Tata is building a chip assembly unit in Assam with an investment of ₹27,000 crore.

With PSMC’s advanced foundry capabilities, the project aims to boost India’s semiconductor industry and strengthen its position in global chip manufacturing.
