Apple has officially launched the iPhone 16E, a revamped entry-level model, as part of its ‘Made in India’ initiative. This marks a significant expansion of Apple’s local manufacturing efforts, with the device assembled in India for both domestic consumers and international exports.
The iPhone 16E, powered by Apple’s A18 chip, brings AI-driven capabilities and improved battery efficiency through an in-house 5G modem. Available in white and black, the device offers storage options of 128GB, 256GB, and 512GB, with a starting price of ₹59,900. Sales begin on February 28 through Apple Stores, e-commerce platforms, and authorized retailers across India.
Analysts believe the iPhone 16E will play a strategic role in Apple’s pricing structure, competing with older iPhones that offer premium camera features. Experts suggest that the pricing gap between the iPhone 16E and the standard iPhone 16 could sway buyers towards the latter, especially with additional discounts from retail partners.
Apple recently entered India’s top five smartphone brands and is expanding local production to strengthen its presence. Research firms project that the iPhone 16E will boost Apple’s market share, particularly in price-sensitive regions like Southeast Asia and Latin America.
