Google has officially inaugurated Ananta, its newest and largest Bengaluru campus, reinforcing its commitment to India as a key market for digital innovation and expansion. Located in Mahadevapura, Ananta spans 1.6 million square feet and can accommodate over 5,000 employees, making it one of Google’s largest global offices.

A New Hub for Innovation

Named after the Sanskrit word for “limitless”, Ananta is designed to foster collaboration and innovation. The campus will host teams from Google Search, Android, Pay, Cloud, Maps, Play, and Google DeepMind. It features neighborhood-style workspaces, a central gathering area called Sabha, and tactile flooring to support visually impaired employees. Walking and jogging paths provide space for informal meetings and relaxation.

Sustainability and Cutting-Edge Design

Ananta incorporates one of India’s largest electro-chromic glass installations and a fluid sculpted facade. Prioritizing sustainability, the campus recycles 100% of its wastewater and employs an extensive rainwater harvesting system.

India: A Strategic Market for Google

India remains Google’s largest user base, with over one billion users. The company has been expanding its product and engineering presence in the country, shifting technical and engineering roles from the U.S. as part of a strategic reorganization. Google currently has over 10,000 employees in India, with additional offices in Gurugram, Hyderabad, Mumbai, and Pune.

Leadership Vision

Anand Rangarajan, Vice President, Google DeepMind, and Sunil Rao, Vice President, Global Delivery, Google Cloud India, emphasized that Ananta will help develop world-class products, foster partnerships, and solve complex global challenges.
