India and Qatar are set to enhance their partnership, focusing on sustainability, technology, entrepreneurship, and energy, according to Union Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal. Speaking at the India-Qatar Business Forum in New Delhi, Goyal emphasized that the two nations share a foundation of trust, trade, and tradition, positioning them for greater economic collaboration.
With global trade shifting towards emerging technologies like artificial intelligence, the Internet of Things (IoT), semiconductors, and quantum computing, India and Qatar are poised to work together for mutual prosperity. The Minister highlighted key developments, including the signing of two Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs)—one between the Qatari Businessmen Association (QBA) and the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), and another between Invest Qatar and Invest India. Additionally, the Joint Working Group on trade and commerce has been elevated to the ministerial level, signaling deeper economic cooperation.
Goyal underscored India’s stable and business-friendly environment, urging Qatari companies to invest in key sectors such as manufacturing, renewable energy, and infrastructure development. He also highlighted the alignment of Qatar’s Vision 2030 with India’s Viksit Bharat 2047, setting the stage for a stronger bilateral future.
