The Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) and ThreeDis have joined forces to establish a Center of Excellence (CoE) for advancing indigenous airport navigation, communication, and security systems under the vision of Atmanirbhar Bharat. Facilitated by the MANTHAN initiative, this strategic partnership aims to revolutionize aviation technology in India.

A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between ThreeDis and SAMEER, an R&D institution under MeitY, in the presence of Prof. Ajay Kumar Sood, Principal Scientific Adviser to the Government of India, and other senior officials from the Airports Authority of India (AAI).

Driving Indigenous Innovation

The CoE will focus on developing cutting-edge, homegrown solutions tailored to Indian airports. This collaboration ensures enhanced self-reliance in critical technologies like RF, microwave systems, and advanced airport surveillance equipment.

Expanding India’s Aviation Ecosystem

S. Krishnan, Secretary, MeitY, emphasized that the initiative aligns with the government’s goal to transform India into a global tech hub. The project will leverage SAMEER’s research capabilities and ThreeDis’s expertise in airport systems to create products that meet international standards.

The partnership symbolizes India’s commitment to achieving self-reliance in aviation technology, fostering innovation, and addressing future challenges in a fast-growing aviation market.
