OnePlus Unveils ₹6,000 Crore ‘Project Starlight’ to Enhance Durability, Services, and Innovation in India

OnePlus has announced a massive ₹6,000 crore investment under “Project Starlight” to strengthen its footprint in India. Spanning three years, the initiative focuses on improving device durability, after-sales services, and India-specific innovations. This annual ₹2,000 crore commitment is a testament to OnePlus’s dedication to addressing unique user challenges in India, including extreme heat, humidity, and longer device replacement cycles.
Robin Liu, CEO of OnePlus India, emphasized, “Project Starlight is our commitment to ensuring our devices and services cater reliably to Indian users. India remains a top priority for us globally.”
The initiative comes as OnePlus tackles challenges like the “green-line” display issue, a widespread OLED problem in the industry. The company has introduced advanced bonding technology and a protective layer to combat moisture-related display aging. The upcoming OnePlus 13 flagship will feature these enhancements, including a life-time display warranty, a first in the smartphone industry.
Key highlights of Project Starlight include a 22% expansion of service centers in 2023, plans for a 50% increase by 2026, and the development of features like 5.5G support, Steady Connect for seamless Bluetooth, and optimized connectivity in Delhi Metro’s Yellow Line.
This strategic initiative reinforces OnePlus’s commitment to the Indian market while setting new benchmarks for reliability and innovation.
