MSI Begins Laptop Manufacturing in India with Chennai Facility
Taiwanese laptop giant MSI has officially launched its manufacturing operations in India, marking a significant step under the “Make in India” initiative. The company’s first manufacturing facility, located in Chennai, will produce two popular laptop models: the MSI Modern 14 and MSI Thin 15.
India is one of MSI’s fastest-growing markets, and the brand is committed to strengthening its presence in the country. “As demand for high-performance laptops rises, MSI is proud to support India’s thriving tech ecosystem with locally manufactured devices that meet global standards,” the company stated.
To improve accessibility, MSI plans to expand its retail footprint, including more exclusive brand stores and partnerships with Croma and Reliance Retail. The India-made MSI Thin 15 and Modern 14 laptops will be available at starting prices of ₹73,990 and ₹52,990, respectively. The company also aims to launch more powerful configurations of the Thin series to cater to diverse customer needs.
John Hung, NB General Manager of MSI India, said, “India’s growing demand for high-performance laptops has been integral to our decision to manufacture locally. This milestone will enhance operational efficiency and further MSI’s growth while contributing to India’s emergence as a global technology leader.”
