Dixon Technologies and Vivo India Partner to Boost Smartphone Manufacturing in India

Dixon Technologies and Vivo India have announced a strategic joint venture to strengthen smartphone manufacturing in India. The agreement positions Dixon with a 51% stake in the venture, while Vivo India will hold 49%. This collaboration aims to handle Vivo’s original equipment manufacturing (OEM) smartphone orders and explore opportunities to manufacture electronic devices for other brands.

The joint venture’s execution is subject to regulatory approvals, including foreign exchange clearances, and the fulfillment of customary conditions. Atul B. Lall, Vice Chairman and Managing Director of Dixon Technologies, expressed confidence in the partnership, citing aligned values in quality and innovation. Jerome Chen, CEO of Vivo India, highlighted how this collaboration will complement Vivo’s current manufacturing capabilities.

Dixon Technologies, a leader in design-driven manufacturing, boasts a diverse portfolio, including consumer electronics, home appliances, lighting, mobile phones, wearables, and telecom hardware. This partnership aligns with India’s “Make in India” initiative, aiming to bolster local production and reduce dependence on imports.

The strategic collaboration is expected to enhance India’s position as a global manufacturing hub while fostering technological innovation and creating employment opportunities in the electronics sector.
