Google CEO Sundar Pichai, PM Modi Discuss Opportunities in AI for India

Google CEO Sunday Pichai and Prime Minister Narendra Modi held discussions around opportunities AI will bring to India during the AI Action Summit in Paris.

The meeting held on the concluding day of the summit and Pichai took to X (formerly Twitter) to share the photo as he said that he was “delighted” to meet PM Modi.

He also emphasized on working closely with India on country’s digital transformation.

This was the second meeting between PM Modi and Pichai in six months. Both met in September 2024 in New York when PM Modi was in the US to attend Quad Leaders’ Summit.

Prior to the meeting, the Indian Prime Minister addressed the 14th India-France CEOs Forum. Encouraging French businesses to invest in India, PM Modi said that India is fast becoming a preferred global investment destination and while it is the fifth largest economy in the world, it will soon become the third largest economy by following the path of reform, perform, and transform.

Highlighting the progress made by India, he emphasized on AI, semiconductor and quantum missions. He further said that India is promoting Make in India and Make for the World in defence while scaling new heights in space technology.

PM Modi was in Paris to co-chair the AI Action Summit.
