IndiaAI and Meta Unveil Major Initiatives to Advance Open-Source AI Innovation and Skilling in India
IndiaAI at MeitY and Meta have launched transformative projects to drive AI innovation and skill development, establishing the Center for Generative AI, “Srijan,” at IIT Jodhpur and introducing the “YuvAi” skilling program for youth. Supported by Meta, the Srijan center aims to foster cutting-edge research in AI, focusing on responsible and ethical development.
The YuvAi initiative will empower 100,000 students and developers to leverage open-source large language models (LLMs) in real-world applications, with emphasis on sectors like healthcare, education, and smart cities. This collaboration aligns with IndiaAI’s mission to create a robust ecosystem for AI and enhance India’s tech sovereignty.
