PLI Scheme for White Goods: 38 Companies Commit ₹4,121 Crore in Third Round

The third application window for the Production-Linked Incentive (PLI) Scheme for White Goods (Air Conditioners and LED Lights) attracted 38 companies, committing INR 4,121 crore in investments. Concluding on October 12, 43% of applicants were MSMEs, signaling their growing confidence in contributing to India’s manufacturing ecosystem.
Notably, 21 applicants targeted AC components, pledging INR 3,679 crore, while 18 focused on LED light components with INR 442 crore committed. Investments span 54 districts across 18 states, including emerging hubs like Sri City, Andhra Pradesh, and Neemrana, Rajasthan.
The scheme aims to build a robust domestic manufacturing ecosystem, with companies like Daikin, LG, Voltas, and Dixon participating. Expected outcomes include investments totaling INR 11,083 crore, 80,486 jobs, and production worth INR 1.82 lakh crore.
