Piyush Goyal Urges Industry to Champion Tourism, Skills, and AI Development

Union Minister of Commerce & Industry, Piyush Goyal, called on industry associations to promote tourism, engage startups, and support youth and women entrepreneurs during the Indian Chamber of Commerce (ICC) Annual Plenary Session. Highlighting tourism’s economic potential, he urged industry bodies to leverage their global offices to showcase India’s tourism and enhance citizens’ language skills to unlock jobs in interpreting and tour operations.

Goyal stressed the need for bridging the skill gap to meet job demands, aligning with Prime Minister Modi’s vision of “Reform, Perform, Transform.” He emphasized India’s progress in AI, machine learning, and clean energy, urging associations to share these developments globally as India advances toward becoming the third-largest economy.

He also encouraged collaboration with the government to empower youth through skill development and employment generation, underscoring inclusiveness as key to India’s success on its journey to “Viksit Bharat 2047.”
