National IPR Conference Highlights Enhanced Collaboration and Capacity Building for Enforcement

The three-day National Conference on Enforcement and Capacity Building in Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) at NACIN, Palasamudram, Andhra Pradesh, emphasized strengthening India’s IPR enforcement through enhanced collaboration and capacity building.

Inaugurated by Surjit Bhujbal, Member (Customs), CBIC, the event focused on leveraging technology, augmenting Customs officers’ skills, and devising strategies against IPR violations.

Participants, including government officials, right holders, and international experts, discussed themes such as inter-agency coordination, public-private partnerships, and tackling piracy and counterfeiting in e-commerce. The World Customs Organization (WCO) conducted a special session on global IPR enforcement strategies.

The conference also showcased NACIN Palasamudram’s state-of-the-art Immersive Training Centre, designed to train stakeholders on IPR laws. The facility aims to enhance understanding and practical application of IPR enforcement, reinforcing India’s commitment to robust IP protection.
