Maharashtra to Establish Cutting-Edge Centers of Excellence in AI and Robotics

The National Institute of Electronics and Information Technology (NIELIT) and the Maharashtra State Board of Technical Education signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on October 11 with an aim to make Maharashtra a hub for advanced technical education with the establishment of Centers of Excellence (CoEs) in Artificial Intelligence, Robotics, IoT, Industry 4.0, and 3D Printing.
This initiative aims to enhance capacity building and R&D at government polytechnics and engineering colleges across the state. Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw highlighted the alignment of this initiative with the National Education Policy, which emphasizes practical, industry-ready skills.
This project will empower students with opportunities in cutting-edge technologies and strengthen Maharashtra’s position as a leader in technical education and innovation.
