India to Lead Global Telecom Connectivity and Innovation: Piyush Goyal

Union Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal highlighted India’s emerging role as a global provider of telecom services and digital connectivity at the World Telecommunication Standardization Assembly and India Mobile Congress in New Delhi. Goyal emphasized that India’s robust telecom infrastructure, driven by the Digital India initiative, has positioned the country as a “Trusted Partner of the World.”

India’s seamless broadband connectivity, spanning urban and rural areas, showcases its leadership in democratizing technology, he said. Goyal called on Indian companies to support emerging economies with high-quality, secure telecom solutions, aligning with global Sustainable Development Goals for affordable digital access.

Goyal credited Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision for India’s digital growth, particularly in enabling uninterrupted services during the COVID-19 pandemic. As India advances 5G and prepares for 6G, Goyal emphasized that India is not only enhancing domestic connectivity but is poised to support global telecom infrastructure needs and innovation.
