Government Launches Various Initiatives to Strengthen India’s Cybersecurity

With over 936 million internet users, India is a global digital leader. To protect this vast online community, the Government has launched several cybersecurity initiatives. The Indian Computer Emergency Response Team (CERT-In) plays a key role by responding to cyber incidents and issuing security advisories. CERT-In collaborates with law enforcement and service providers to combat phishing, fraud, and cybercrime while managing platforms like Cyber Swachhta Kendra for malware detection.
To enhance public safety, the government has introduced the Cyber Crime Coordination Centre (14C) and a toll-free helpline (1930) for reporting financial fraud. Additionally, the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 ensures personal data privacy and security. These efforts reinforce India’s commitment to a secure digital landscape.
