The Department of Consumer Affairs (DoCA) has initiated the Right to Repair Portal India to enhance consumer access to repair information, promoting product reuse and reducing e-waste.

Secretary Nidhi Khare led a meeting with automobile associations and partner companies to onboard them to the portal. Emphasizing the need for accessible repair manuals and videos, Khare advocated for a robust ecosystem for third-party repairs and standards.

Key discussions included improving roadside assistance, establishing a repairability index, and addressing issues with repair costs and availability of genuine spare parts. The meeting concluded with a collaborative approach to enhance post-sale services.
