BIS Partners with IISc Bengaluru to Establish Standardization Chair

The Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bengaluru, to establish the ‘BIS Standardization Chair Professor,’ formalized on July 3, 2024.

This collaboration aims to enhance academic involvement in standardization and integrate it into academic curricula. Key initiatives include incorporating standardization topics into courses, engaging in national and international standardization efforts, and co-hosting events like seminars and workshops.

BIS Director General Pramod Kumar Tiwari emphasized the partnership’s potential to drive research and innovation in standardization, fostering the development of reliable products and services in India.
