The Government has established 65 Software Technology Parks of India (STPI) centers across the country, with 20 additional centers recently approved. STPI, under the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), facilitates software exports and IT growth.

Alongside STPIs, MeitY launched the Electronics Manufacturing Clusters (EMC) Scheme in 2012 to boost electronics manufacturing infrastructure. Nineteen Greenfield EMCs and three Common Facility Centers were approved across 15 states.

In 2020, the EMC 2.0 Scheme was introduced to further strengthen the electronics manufacturing ecosystem. Six new projects under EMC 2.0 have been approved to date.
